Presenters: Emiliano, Florencia, Javier Topic: Friendship In this show, adult English language students in GO2 class talk about friendship. Emiliano, Florencia and Javier, all from Argentina, volunteered to host the show. They chose the topic, prepared the questions (with the teacher's help), introduce the show and interview their classmates. Emiliano, Florencia and Javier introduced an interesting change to the format of the show. They invited all the guests to sit with them around a table and got them all to respond to each question, before moving on to the next. This was a very successful strategy, and created a show of great cohesiveness. Respect! The guests are: Gisella (Argentina) Dimitri (Belgium) Alessandro (Italy/USA) Sol (Argentina) Gabriela (Venezuela/Spain) Interview questions (If you are listening in class, you could ask a partner the interview questions, then choose one or more of the speakers and note their answers.) 1) Some people say they have a close friend that they have always met on the Internet (e.g. Facebook), but never in person. Is this possible? 2) Do you think that you can have many real friends or just a few? 3) Some people say that their best friend is a pet, e.g. a dog or a cat. What would you say to somebody like this? 4) What do you usually do with your friends to have fun? 5) Could you be close friends with someone who had very different political or religious ideas from yours? 6) Can men and women ever truly be "just friends"? This show was recorded in class, on group teacher, Geoff's, Apple MacBook Pro computer using the GarageBand application and a Samson Meteor Mic microphone. The GarageBand jingle used is Island. After editing in GarageBand, Audacity (for noise removal and deletion of unnecessary silence) and Levelator (to equalise volumes between different speakers), the file was converted to MP3 format.
